The Brick House - Wyckoff, NJ

First stage of underpainting complete on The Brick House.  Starting the underpainting of Aldo's today as well.

I am taking part in the 50th annual "Art in the Park" show this year after winning best in show last year.   The date is Saturday, October 11 from 11AM to 5PM.  Van Saun County Park, Paramus, NJ.

Reception for the Paramus museum opening will be Monday, October 20th at 7PM.  330 Paramus Road, Paramus, NJ.

Lambert Castle Museum one-person show will open on December 17th, and will run until March 29, 2015.  Reception date info to follow when finalized.

Middlesex County Museum show will open in April 2015.

Lastly, I did not make the final cut for the Bergen County Legends Award, but I lost out to James Gandolfini, Mary Higgins Clark, Bill Parcells, Les Paul and 6 other very worthy and famous Bergen County legends, so I can't complain too much.   Maybe next year.  I'm a legend in my own mind anyway, so I have that going for me.

Highview Drive House - Wyckoff, NJ

Completed painting
oil on linen
10" x 18"

Had a nice trip up to Maine to see the Richard Estes show last week.  The man is a true genius with paint and canvas.

I have been commissioned by the owner of The Brick House and Aldo's restaurants in Wyckoff to do a large painting of each location.  When these 2 paintings are done, I will be doing paintings of the interior of each different room in the Brick House to be published as a book for the restaurant. All these paintings will be hanging in the restaurants for the public to see and enjoy. When these multiple paintings are done, I may be doing a mural for the lobby.  I have my work cut out for me now for at least 6 months.

I just have to mention a very odd thing that happened after meeting with Aldo and securing all this work.  I went outside to photograph the exterior of the Brick House, and while standing in the middle of Godwin Avenue, a total stranger drove up right next to me and asked, "are you the artist?" I was taken aback but replied yes, how do you know that?  She said that she owns one of my paintings that she bought at Kerygma Gallery in Ridgewood, 10 years ago.  I have no idea how she recognized me, but I will take that as a very good omen for my upcoming work with Aldo.

Highview Drive House - Wyckoff, NJ

First stage of underpainting complete.

I just found out yesterday that I will be having a one-person exhibit at Lambert Castle in Paterson, NJ, in conjunction with the Passaic County Historical Society in December 2014 through March 2015.

I was also notified that I will be included in a major NJ diner retrospective and installation at the Middlesex County Museum in April 2015 through April 2016.  My paintings will be hanging with one of my all-time favorite artists, John Baeder.  It is a huge honor for me to have my work hanging alongside this absolute legend in the world of photorealistic painting.

I will post more info about exact dates for receptions, etc...when everything is finalized.

Wyckoff Avenue House - Wyckoff, NJ

Completed painting.

Oil on linen.

10" x 20"

I get to meet such interesting people doing these custom home portraits, and the owner of this beautiful home is no exception.  He is a private helicopter pilot to a hedge fund "master of the universe", who lives in Greenwich, CT.  I am hoping to do a painting of his mansion soon.

The Bergen Record has added some more prints of mine for sale on their site, with about 50-75 more to be added in the coming months.
