Ray's Pizza - NYC, NY

Completed painting...

oil on panel

5" x 7"

This pizza place closed up shop for good a few weeks ago. About a week after that, the original Ray's on Spring Street also closed up shop forever. Both places being victims of landlord greed. I'm really getting sick and tired of these small establishments getting forced out because of skyrocketing rents. I'm glad I can, at the very least, document them through the paintings.

On a happier note, I was able to ride the bike on Halloween during the Village parade again this year. It is the most incredible experience to be able to ride up and down 6th Ave. with tens of thousands of maniacs screaming at me from behind the barricades.

This picture is of my friend James, whom I thought had one of the best costumes of the evening. You should have gone all the way with it James and cut your ear off!!! Maybe next year, eh?
