"Bendix Diner" underpainting stage

I am working on a new large painting of the world famous Bendix Diner in Hasbrouck Heights, N.J. These are a few views of the canvas in the 2nd stage of underpainting. Today was spent working on darkening each neon letter steel box. I love the look of these neon letters inside the protective metal boxes. I think this will be one of my more powerful paintings.
